Doug Smith
May 26, 2023
Our ex-Golf Professional and Strategy Director, Mark Allen, was very saddened to hear of the passing of Doug Smith – his first boss but also a true legend of the Professional Golfers Association in Great Britain. Not only was Doug a former Captain, Chairman and Founding Father of the PGA, Head of Coaching and Ryder Cup Referee, he was simply the most decent of people. He stands alongside the likes of Tony Jacklin, Bernard Gallagher and Nick Faldo as one of only a handful of recipients of the PGA’s highest honor of Honorary Life Membership.

Sean Kavanagh-Dowsett
April 28, 2023

He was one of our first friends in New York, dating back to 1993, and someone we were also privileged to collaborate with. A truly special man, who was the voice of That’s Nice when we needed a professional actor. Nigel, Mark and all here send heartfelt condolences to Nicky, Audrey and everyone at Tea & Sympathy, as well as the thousands who also knew him as restauranteur, actor or multi-talented guy. We will miss you dearly, Sean, with your constant generosity of spirit and sparkling humor, and never forget all the good times and stories. Rest in peace, mate.
