Senior Project Manager

Location: NYC or Raleigh/Durham, NC

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and client-focused Senior Project Manager to join our agency and lead client relationships, project execution, and strategic initiatives. The Senior Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring client satisfaction, driving project success, and contributing to business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team.

Responsibilities

1. Project Management (90% of role)

  • Efficiently push projects through the completion process in the company, securing the needs of creative staff and liaising with vendors and internal account managers.
  • Manage long-term, multi-million dollar engagements with multiple project tracks with a firm command of project management processes and methodologies.
  • Create and manage timelines for projects. See that these meet the client need/brief, that everyone involved with the project is aware of them, and that they are followed and met.
  • Manage projects against established budgets, and track budget usage throughout the project.
  • Track monthly project completions for invoicing use.
  • Manage and set client expectations. At the end of the day (or project), you make sure that everyone’s satisfied.
  • If needed, attend client market events, trade shows, and conferences to support clients, network, establish contact relationships, and represent That’s Nice expertise.
  • Arrange meetings, presentations, proposals, and pitch appointments. Prepare background material, alignment of services, and budget analysis for these meetings – and possibly conduct in conjunction with another business team member or Director.
  • Building strong working relationships with clients based on the agency as a strategic resource and business partners.
  • Ability to manage the day-to-day client relationship for strategic account(s) to ensure a great customer experience. Primary responsibilities include client needs assessment, the recommendation of products and services, and ensuring the quality of the end product.
  • Maintain ongoing relations with key established accounts through direct client contact, including liaison on current projects and prospecting for new projects, taking detailed project briefs, and assessing growth potential.
  • Lead client meetings and consult/manage customer expectations. Provide strategic input to client, and help drive client decision-making process.
  • Relate progress and share general and individual feedback from contact with staff and management at That’s Nice. Strategize on promotional presentation of company capabilities. Convey feedback to staff on market conditions and project progress.
  • Work in partnership with other team member, such as designers and copy writer to fulfill all client requirements. This requires personnel management and the ability to delegate projects without adversely impacting the level of service delivered to the client.
  • Manage client/project budgets and oversee billing/invoicing for client accounts. Identify opportunities within existing client accounts and assist with contract renewals.

2. Business Development Support (10% of role)

This would be in conjunction with the Sales team other Account/Project Managers:

  • Help coordinate and undertake prospecting of contacts by telephone and referrals. Verify information, manage contact data, coordinate mailings (direct mail, personalized, samples, emails) and follow up.
  • Create project estimates and SOW as well pitch decks for presentation and sales.
  • If needed, attend client market events, trade shows, and conferences to support clients, network, establish contact relationships, and represent That’s Nice expertise.
  • Arrange meetings, presentations, proposals, and pitch appointments. Prepare background material, alignment of services, and budget analysis for these meetings – and possibly conduct in conjunction with another business team member or Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 6-7 years post-college experience at a marketing firm or agency.
  • Proven experience as an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager within a creative agency setting.
  • Strong understanding of marketing, branding, and digital strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate client needs into actionable strategies.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor a team.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • A client-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Attend client meeting, trade shows, and events as needed.
