Marken, previously a mainstream courier, approached That’s Nice during a period of financial difficulty. Its parent company sought to reorganize the business as a dedicated specialty provider of clinical trial logistics and transportation – and to compete with market leaders World Courier and Fisher Clinical.

Strategic Approach

That’s Nice developed biannual campaigns over six years, signed off at collaborative strategy sessions with Marken’s executive leadership team. These used distinctive messaging and graphics to gravitate perceptions of Marken towards a clinical trial logistics leader. With little competition to their leadership, World Courier and Fisher Clinical refreshed their brands and approach in defense positions against Marken’s recognized ascent.

Meeting & Exceeding KPIs

Following the repositioning, Marken swiftly rose to prominence in the clinical trial logistics space, and is consistently ranked among the top partners in the space. Marken was acquired by UPS in late 2016, serving as a standalone biopharma logistics brand for the transportation giant.
