Madison Square Park vs. Madison Square Garden

If you’re confused about why Madison Square Garden isn’t anywhere near Madison Square Park…well, it used to be. The original Madison Square Garden was built in 1832 at 26th Street and Madison Avenue, although it didn’t take that name until 1879. These days, you’ll find the fourth incarnation of Madison Square GARDEN northwest of here, but Madison Square PARK is where you’ll find delightful greenery.
