Here’s your cat fact of the day: whiskers aren’t just cute facial hair; they’re super sensitive — enough to allow cats to feel airborne vibrations, which helps them detect objects or predators in the dark. Our feline friends also use these specialized hairs to help navigate, balance, and determine the size of the environment around them. Rusty mostly uses his for rubbing against Nigel’s head while he’s trying to sleep.
