Research Report Manager

Location: NYC/Hybrid

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Research Report Manager to join our life science research team. The Research Report Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production of comprehensive research reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences, excellent project management skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

1. Report Production:

    • Directly produce reports. Hands-on role
    • Collaborate with researchers and subject matter experts to gather research findings, data, and insights for the creation of research reports.
    • Organize and synthesize complex scientific information into clear and coherent written reports suitable for various audiences.

 

2. Quality Control:
    • Review and edit research reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, clarity, and adherence to formatting and style guidelines.
    • Verify data, references, and citations to maintain the highest level of quality and credibility.

 

3. Project Management:
    • Develop and manage timelines for report creation, editing, and review processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality reports.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, designers, and editorial staff, to ensure smooth production workflows.

 

4. Content Enhancement:
    • Collaborate with researchers to enhance the visual presentation of data using charts, graphs, and infographics.
    • Ensure that technical terminology and scientific concepts are explained in an accessible manner for a diverse audience.

 

5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input, feedback, and requirements for report content and design.
    • Address feedback and iterate on report drafts to meet stakeholder expectations.

 

6. Documentation and Archiving:
    • Maintain accurate records of research report versions, edits, and feedback for future reference and historical documentation.

 

7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry best practices for scientific report writing, design, and presentation.
    • Propose and implement improvements to the report creation process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a life science discipline.
  • 6 years post-college experience at a marketing firm or agency
  • Proven experience in scientific writing, report creation, or technical documentation in the life sciences field.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to critically review and edit scientific content.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and data visualization software.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with scientific research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder interactions.
  • Knowledge of formatting and citation styles commonly used in scientific literature.
