Research Director

Location: NYC/Hybrid

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Life Science Research Director to lead our research initiatives in the field of life sciences. The Research Director will be responsible for shaping and executing the research strategy, fostering collaborations, and ensuring the quality and impact of the research conducted within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences research, exceptional leadership skills, and a track record of driving innovation and scientific advancement.

Responsibilities

1. Research Strategy and Leadership:
    • Develop and communicate a compelling research vision aligned with the organization's goals and mission.
    • Lead a team of researchers, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
    • Define and prioritize research objectives, projects, and goals in line with emerging trends and advancements in life sciences.

 

2. Collaboration and Partnerships:
    • Cultivate collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners, and other research organizations to enhance research capabilities and access to resources.
    • Identify opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations and joint research efforts to drive synergistic outcomes.

 

3. Research Execution:
    • Design and oversee the implementation of complex research studies and projects, ensuring rigor, methodology, and ethical considerations are upheld.
    • Stay updated on the latest techniques, technologies, and methodologies in life sciences research and ensure their integration into ongoing projects.

 

4. Quality Assurance and Impact:
    • Maintain high standards of scientific integrity and quality across all research activities.
    • Monitor and evaluate the impact of research outcomes, publications, and contributions to the advancement of the field.

 

5. Resource Management:
    • Manage research budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure optimal utilization of funding for maximum research productivity.
    • Oversee procurement of necessary equipment, supplies, and technologies to support research endeavors.

 

6. Communication and Dissemination:
    • Facilitate effective communication of research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at conferences, and engagement with the scientific community.
    • Translate complex scientific concepts into accessible information for various stakeholders, including policymakers and the general public.

 

7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging researchers to explore novel approaches and solutions to scientific challenges.
    • Implement strategies for continuous improvement in research methodologies and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a life science field, with a distinguished record of research accomplishments.
  • 10 years post-college experience at a marketing firm or agency
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and leading a research team.
  • In-depth knowledge of current trends, breakthroughs, and emerging areas in life sciences research.
  • Strong publication record in reputable scientific journals and contributions to the scientific community.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure research funding through grants, partnerships, or other means.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable research plans.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Ethical awareness and commitment to upholding the highest standards of research integrity.
