PR Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time PR Director with 10 years of experience to provide public relations support to life science industry clients while assisting in the management of PR and account teams alongside existing directors. Candidates should have experience in integrated marketing comprising print projects, trade show solutions, advertising, and PR. The position requires the handling of large volumes of technical information, file management, research, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to liaise with a team of account, creative, and sales teams.

That’s Nice serves clients in the life sciences industry – pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, biologics, and new modalities. Experience in these sectors is advantageous. However, a background working in a similar highly-technical industry is also well-suited.

The ideal candidate is highly social and can work through and manage integrated projects. Candidates must be able to work independently, handling many projects simultaneously, and collaborate within a team environment.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has 10 years post-college experience in pharmaceutical public relations and is familiar with major North American, European, and Asian trade publications for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. Candidates should be prepared to establish and maintain strong relationships with editorial contacts across media channels in order to facilitate earned media coverage for clients, leverage relationships for media placement and PR coverage, identify and brief opportunities for PR to serve clients, coordinate and follow up with press release sign-offs, and distribute PR materials to relevant sources.

Work Environment

  • The position is based at our office on Fifth Avenue, near Union Square in New York, NY.
  • This role is office-based, in an open space with other staff, visitors in and out, and occasionally music playing, which creates a lively environment. The successful candidate must be confident in their ability to work comfortably and effectively in these circumstances.

Hours, Remuneration & Benefits

  • Basic hours of work are five days per week (Mon-Fri), 9am - 6:30pm, with 1 hour lunch. Additional hours may be necessary at times to complete projects under deadlines.
  • Nine public holidays across the year are observed with office closure.
  • Bonus: Performance-based financial bonuses.
  • Benefits: Eligibility after 4 weeks probationary period (Aetna health plans, dental plans, vision plans, life insurance, disability plans, AD&D plans, commuter benefit options)
  • Vacation: 15 paid days annually, earned after 4-week probation (pro-rated to calendar year)
  • Sickness: 5 paid days annually, earned after 4-week probation (pro-rated to calendar year)
